Woodhill Elementary exceeded its academic growth expectations for the 2025-2026 year, improved it school performance score by 8 points, and increased overall growth by 18.3 percentage points. This means we are moving in the right direction toward higher academic achievement!
Woodhill Elementary
Woodhill Elementary is an Innovation School in Gaston County Schools with a focus on using clear strategies and strong purpose to boost student success. Students receive extra instructional support, and teachers take on advanced roles to help students achieve at a higher level.
Providing care for students at school
Thanks to our partnership with Kintegra Health, we offer a telehealth clinic here at our school. Students, who are experiencing a minor illness or condition, can be seen by a medical provider virtually. This allows us to provide care for students without them having to leave school to go to the doctor.

Parent representatives from our schools participated in the fall semester Parent Advisory Council meeting on October 6.
The Board of Education will meet on Monday, October 19, at 5:30 p.m. at the Gaston County Schools Central Office, 943 Osceola Street, Gastonia. The public is invited to attend. If you are unable to attend the meeting, you can watch it live on YouTube, the Gaston County Schools website, or Spectrum Channel 21. View the online agenda here.
National School Bus Safety Week (October 19-23) is an active and evolving public education program and an excellent way for parents, students, teachers, motorists, school bus operators, school administrators, and other interested parties - to join forces and address the importance of school bus safety.
Friday, October 16 is an Optional Teacher Workday, which means no school for students.
Stuart W. Cramer High School and the Raging Storm Band Boosters will host the Gaston County Schools Marching Band Fanfare on Saturday, November 7 at 3:00 p.m. The event features all 10 Gaston County high school bands.
